Individual Therapy
I provide therapy services to individuals ages 13+ in the state of Colorado. I work collaboratively with clients to assess what therapeutic support they need, including other providers if necessary.
I have expertise with a variety of mental health challenges including:
Anxiety Disorders
Depression
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Eating Disorders
Body Dysmorphic Disorder
Some people use therapy as a way to maintain positive wellbeing on a regular basis, while others hop in and out of therapy depending on the stressors in their life. Having a dedicated weekly time that is just for YOU can make all the difference.
Eating Disorder Therapy
My approach to working with eating disorders and chronic dieting is rooted in the non diet, weight inclusive movement and informed by Intuitive Eating. These philosophies acknowledge how racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism and diet culture impact one’s ability to respect and love their bodies. I aim to be weight inclusive and create safety for people of all identities and backgrounds.
I enjoy working specifically at the intersection of body shame and trauma. In my years of experience working in a variety of mental health settings these two themes tend to show up in the room together. Research shows just how much trauma wreaks havoc on the body over time, often resulting in increased physical distress, shame and disordered eating.
If you are ready to address what is at the core of your body shame, unhealthy relationship with food or disordered eating, let’s talk!
EDMR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an evidence-based trauma therapy used to address trauma, grief and loss, anxiety and other mental health challenges. Traumatic memories are typically stored in the brain with vivid pictures, sounds, feelings and body sensations, which can result in distressing symptoms. Using bilateral stimulation, similar to REM sleep, EMDR helps identify and process these memories to help you stop re-experiencing these memories and ultimately feel more in control.
EMDR can be relatively short term, with the average treatment length being 6-12 sessions. While EMDR may not be appropriate for every type of client or issue, it may be what you have been missing in traditional talk therapy!
